Plan to join us on Sunday evening, September 5, to celebrate Labor Day and the end of summer. All are invited to the evening service at 7:00 pm followed by a light meal and refreshment. Everyone is also invited to gather at Dr. Dolphin's office in Belding to enjoy fireworks (at about 10:00 pm - bring lawn chairs or a blanket). If you have any questions, please contact Sheryl Bush.

Sunday School begins September 12 following the morning service. Classes are available for everyone - PreK through Adult!

On Sept 12 following Sunday School we will have a picnic. Chicken will be provided, but please bring a side dish, appetizer, or dessert to pass. There will be yard games and even a few organized large group games for the whole family! Contact Debbie Stapert with any questions or if you are willing to help set up.

Oakwood Church would like to extend a warm welcome to Rev. Ron Fynewever and his wife Bonnie as they serve us through January 2011. They have four grown children and four grandchildren, and currently live in Wyoming, MI.

Pastor Ron has served as a Christian Reformed minister for 37 years, including churches in Zillah, Washington; Worthington, Minnesota; Imlay City, Michigan and Kentwood, Michigan. For the last 3 years he has served as a Specialized Transitional Minister (STM) working with churches to promote healing within the church. His last two STM stints have been in Fremont and in New Era.

We ask that you join us in supporting Pastor Ron and Bonnie in prayer through this time of transition for both them and our congregation.
