Core Values
Theological and Confessional Values: these are our essential truths and basic beliefs- We believe in salvation through Jesus Christ alone.
- We believe that Scripture is the authoritative Word of God
- We believe in the reformed perspective as reflected in Heidelberg Catechism, Belgic Confession, Canons of Dordt
- We believe in the reformed form of church government
- Actual Values (these beliefs are owned and practiced daily). We believe in:
- Preaching and Teaching Scripture – communicating God’s Word to people
- Education of Youth (pre to high school) – providing guidance and instruction
- Fellowship – relating to and enjoying each other
- Community – caring about and addressing the needs of others
- Prayer – communicating with God
- Encouragement – giving hope to people who are discouraged
- Worship – attributing worth to God
- Aspirational Values (these are beliefs that identify what we hope to become). We desire to more fully
develop beliefs and practices in:
- Evangelism (a heart for the lost, bringer) – we will tell others about Christ
- Empowering Christians (spiritually gifted) - we are enabled to minister based on our spiritual gifts
- Knowledgeable Christians – we are familiar with the truths of the Scriptures
- Discipling members – we will lead members to maturity in Christ
- Mobilizing members – we will actively serve in the ministries of the church
- Innovation and Initiative – we will promote better ways to serve and take the first steps
- Giving – we will provide a portion (a tithe) of our finances and service to support the ministry
- Balanced Ministry- we will practice a ministry that is balanced in doctrine, evangelism, worship and fellowship
- Support of families and singles – we will support families and singles
